“To Know Him and Make Him Known”

 Our Beliefs
  • We believe that the BIBLE is the Word of God and is inspired and without error in its original form and therefore the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.  2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

  • We believe that there is only ONE GOD, holy and omnipotent who exists eternally in three Persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1-26; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19

  • We believe that GOD THE FATHER sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save sinners. John 3:16; Ephesians 1:4-5

  • We believe that JESUS CHRIST is God; that He was born of a virgin; that He lived without committing sin; that He died by means of crucifixion as a substitute for sins of man; that He was resurrected physically from the dead; that He ascended into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father; that He will return visibly to take with Him His Church; and that when He comes, He will judge the world. John 17:5; Luke 1:26-35; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; Matthew 20:28; Acts 2:32-33; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 20:11-15

  • We believe that the HOLY SPIRIT is God; that He is a Person; that He regenerates and indwells all believers from the moment of their conversion; that He distributes spiritual gifts in the church; and that He is the Guide of the believer. Acts 5:3-4; Titus 3:5-6; 1 Corinthians 12:7 & 11; Ephesians 5:18

  • We believe that all men are created in the image of God. However, because of the sin of Adam the human race is totally depraved and condemned to eternal punishment and separation from God. They are incapable, in and of themselves, to restore their fellowship with God. Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-10

  • We believe that SALVATION and fellowship with God are received only by grace, which is a gift of God manifested in the life of the believer through personal repentance of sin and faith in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for us. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense, salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. Romans 5:10 & 19; Romans 3:23-24; Ephesians 2:8-9

  • Regeneration or the new birth, is a work of God’s grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart brought about by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning     from  sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior. Justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer into a relationship of peace and favor with God.

  • Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration by which the believer is set apart to God’s purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual perfection through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the person’s life.

  • Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.

  • We believe that there will be a FINAL BODILY RESURRECTION of all the dead – those who are saved will receive eternal life with God in Heaven, and those who are not saved will be condemned to eternal punishment. Romans 6:23; John 5:28-29; Matthew 18:8

  • We believe that the CHURCH is universal and is made up of the people of God. The church is made up of local congregations who are led by qualified leaders who prepare the believers in Jesus Christ to worship God, edify one another and evangelize the world through both conduct and spoken word. Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 4:11-13; Galatians 5:22-23

  • We believe that believers in Jesus Christ, being filled with the Holy Spirit, should GROW DAILY in the grace and knowledge of God and that they should consistently overcome the influences of the world, the flesh and of Satan. 2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 5:18-19; Galatians 5:22-26

  • We believe that the practice of the LORD’S SUPPER was ordained by the Lord Jesus Christ to remember His death, His resurrection and His return. Moreover, we believe that the Lord’s Supper was given to the church so that believers could examine themselves in order to maintain a right relationship with both God and his fellow man. Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30

  • We believe that BAPTISM was commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism was and still is intended to identify the new believer with Jesus Christ as a symbol of new life. While baptism is not necessary for a person’s salvation, it is a very important act of obedience for the believer. Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-9; Luke 23:39-43

  • We believe that the enemy of God and the Church is SATAN. He is a real person who is not visible. While he possesses a great power, he was defeated by the Lord Jesus Christ and believers can live in the victory that Christ conquered for them. 1 Peter 5:8-9; Ephesians 1:20-22; Ephesians 6:16-18
  • MARRIAGE & HUMAN SEXUALITY  We believe God intentionally designed and created humanity male and female (Gen. 1:27; Gen. 5:1-2; Matt 19:4; Mark 10:6) We believe marriage is ordained and instituted by God and according to the Scriptures can only exist and be fulfilled between a man and a woman. (Gen 2:21-24; Mark 10:2-12; Matt 19:3-11; Eph 5:21-33; 1 Tim 3:2, 12). We believe marriage is a picture of the relationship of Christ and the Church and is to be a lifelong, covenant relationship between a man and a woman based on love, respect, mutual submission and personal sacrifice. (Eph 5:21-33; I Peter 3:1-7; Mal 2:14-16; I Cor 7:10-16; Matt 5:31-32; 19:3-11) We believe God intended sexual intimacy to be enjoyed only within the context of the male and female marriage relationship; and that all other sexual relations outside of marriage are personally destructive, sinful and forbidden by God (Heb 13:4; Gen 1:28; 2:25; I Cor 7:2-5; Lev 18:1-30; Rom 1:24-32; I Thess 4:1-8; Jude 1:7)

  • We believe that all SPIRITUAL GIFTS are given by the Holy Spirit, and it is the Holy Spirit that determines what gift the believer will have (1 Corinthians 12:11). All gifts are essential to the body of Christ, and all gifts are only to edify (build up) the body of Christ. The most controversial gift is the gift of tongues and its place in today’s church. CCF is a very diverse congregation with many different denominational backgrounds. As leaders, it’s our responsibility to create an environment with no room for confusion or disorder. In 1 Corinthians, Paul says, “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you but, “in the church” I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.” (1 Corinthians 14:18-19). In 1 Corinthians 14:23, God’s word reads, “So if the whole church comes together and everybody speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand, or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?” “For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

The ongoing praise that is expressed about CCF is not only the love that people feel, but also the balance during the service. We do not practice the gift of tongues corporately or in small group Bible studies.

If you have the gift of tongues, please use it in your own private worship time with the Lord,

and please honor the structure of leadership at CCF.
